お久しぶりです! この前の火曜日に最後の仕事を終え、来週から4週間の学生生活が始まります。移民者向けの就職活動コースに通う事にしました。ちょっとでも履歴書に書けるスキルを増やそうと簿記の勉強も始めてみたり。これからどんな方向に物事が流れて行くのか検討もつかないけれど、仕事を辞めてコースに通うことがリセットボタンとなり新たな気持ちでスタートした感じです。こうして物事は変化していくけれど、一方で永遠不変なモノもある。私にとってそれはシマシマ柄に対する愛です。お気に入りのシマシマ服を着て学生生活に励むとします。
Hello, it’s been a while since my last post! I just finished my last day at work last Tuesday and I am going to start 4 weeks of student life. I’ve decided to take a job hunting course which specially runs for migrants like me. And, I’ve been studying a basic bookkeeping skill as well, which I could put in my resume. I don’t know where things will lead me, but quitting the job and starting the course is like my personal reset button and I have a fresh new feeling. Things are changing like this, but there’s always something that never changes, too. It’s my love for stripes. Wearing my favourite striped tees and being a hard-working student, that’s the spirit.

仕事探しを始めています。今のカフェの仕事は大好きなのですが、将来的な貯蓄などを考えた末に決めました。ランチタイムだけの仕事だけでは厳しいのが現状なのです。事務職に就けるよう色々な派遣会社に登録し始めたところです。まだどこからも連絡がなく、この先のストレス生活を考えると不安がどっと押し寄せてくるのが正直なところ。はあ・・・。ただ、このアデレードでどこまでやれるか、やってみないとわからないっ!という希望を持ちつつ、がんばれるところまでがんばってみたいと思っています。
I’ve just started shigotosagashi (job hunting in Japanese). I love my current cafe job, but I’ve had to make my decision to save up more for the future. Working for only lunch time isn’t quite enough. I’ve been sending my resumes out to recruitment agencies, which haven’t responded yet. It really makes me worry to think about when I can find one and being under stress, but I want to see my capabilities here in Adelaide and don’t want to give up. You’ll never know unless you try!

仕事が終わって自転車に乗り、ふと目の前を見たら虹が出ていました。その虹に近づいて行くかのようにゆるい坂をのぼりながら「家に着いたらすぐに写真撮らなきゃ!」と鼻息が荒くなりました。我が家からの眺め、東京に帰ったらまたこんなのんびり風景が恋しくなるんだろうなあ。
I got on my bike after work and looked up the sky, wow! there was a beautiful rainbow there. I was riding uphill, heading closer to the rainbow and excitedly thinking, “I really have to take pictures as soon as I get home!” I think I’ll miss this laid back view from our apartment the next time I’m back in Tokyo.

我が家には収納スペースと呼べるものがウォークインクローゼットくらいしかありません。階段の下を物置代わりに使用しているのですが、丸見え状態でどうも気持ちがよろしくない。ということで仕切り版で隠す収納をすることにしました。
The walk-in closet is the only proper storage space we have. We’ve been using the space under the stairs for an extra storage, but it didn’t look pretty as you could see everything. So, we decided to make a screen board to cover up.
